Back to Clockworks…

Decided it was time to get back to the Clockwork Custode – thought I might change out the plain armour forearm for the cool lion face one:

Had to fiddle about with the underside to take the hammer hand:

And done:

Then worked a little on Gutrot, plodding toward the end…

Had to repair the handle for his axe after a section broke off (dammit!):

And made the strap to go under the tentacle ‘shoulder’ armour:

I’ll glue it into place once the GS has dried – this is best way I’ve found for making straps with buckles at this scale, sculpting them in place never seems to work out.

Thanks for looking!

  1. That’s a really good idea for making straps separately from the rest of the body – so simple, but I’ve never considered that before. Unless, I guess, if you needed a really specific placement or stretching around features for strapping, that looks like the way to go.

    1. It works in most situations – just don’t forget to lubricate the surface you model them on, here I’m using a piece of styrene card glued to a small wooden block. Next update I’ll have a pic of the strap in place 😉
